I am always amazed by few people who have really great sense of decoration. Such people inspire me in many ways. I always take pictures or try to remember ideas. Photo frames, wall décor, paintings, wall hangings , lamp shades always give your home lively look.
When I saw this wall decor, I thought that's really easy to make it. But it actually took me 7 days to complete and then finally it went on the wall.
Here is the list of few things those are required.
1. Center mirror. Size depends on your wish and the wall size where you are planning to hang it. I used 12 or 14 inch mirror
2. Bamboo Skewers.
3. Any glue that will stick the skewers to the glass (back side of mirror). Here I have used E6000 Craft adhesive. You can can use fevicol or feviquick available in India. Make sure the glue should become transparent once it dries off so that you can paint it.
4. Small mirrors or beads
5. A thick cardboard. My cardboard was some box I cut. So it had nice n smooth white surface from one side.
6. Jute rope
7. Acrylic colour of your choice. I have used red color.
8. Plastic lid of any disposable container ( I have used the lid of curd container that we buy)
Procedure :
1. Find out the center of the main mirror.
2. Draw two different circles using the same center. One circle has to have small diameter and other bigger.
3. Circumferences of these two circles will help us to stick the skewers on the same track. So that skewers will be of same length.
4. I started sticking the skewers on every alternate circumference. So that every alternate skewer is small and other is big in length.
5. Let the skewers dry overnight.
6. Now paint the sticks using acrylic colours. Let the color dry and apply the second coat.
7. Now our main part is complete. Next is to make the base and hanger that will hold the decor on the wall.
8. Cut the circle of cardboard. The circle should be little smaller than the mirror. Cut the circle out of plastic lid and stick it to the cardboard circle. Let it dry for 7-8 hours.
Make two holes on this plastic circle through the cardboard circle and pass the jute rope from both the holes and then from other side knot them together. (plastic circle is required to resist the cardboard from tearing due to the weight of mirror n sticks)
9. Now apply the good quantity of glue on the cardboard circle and paste this circle on the back of the mirror where the skewers are fixed.
10. Put something really heavy on the cardboard overnight. So that the cardboard will get fixed nicely.
11. Now stick the small mirrors on the skewers sticks.
Now it's all ready to go on the wall.
